Office Depot Diagnosing Malware When It Does Not Exist?
As reported by CBS investigation (http://www.cbsnews.com, opens in a new tab).
Apparently, CBS investigators, brought computers that were literally hours new, into different Office Depot locations, to find out from their technicians, that these computers were infected with malware/viruses.
Seemingly technicians would completely make up that these computers had some sort of a virus which was the culprit for the PC being slow. The computers were literally unboxed outside Office Depot’s stores and brought in for repair to see what they would say and how they would diagnose an issue.
It is shocking to hear such news about the big computer repair companies. Most of us, put a lot of trust in the big brands only to discover later that we were being fooled all along.
Whether Office Depot was doing this to reach their quota, or because their techs were negligent is to be investigated.
As a computer repair company ourselves, we always explain what we perform into your computer and we never leave you in the dark. We also delve deep into your computer’s operating system to understand the culprit before taking any kind of action.
As I always say, 99% of the work is the diagnosis, 1% is the solution.
