Why Trojans and Hackers Attack Your Computer
Many times when fixing and troubleshooting a computer, I detect and find trojans or hackers. I explain to my clients what Trojans and hackers are and proceed with the removal. Check out my previous post: The Truth About Trojans.
It is alarming and scary to know you have someone spying and possibly stalking you. It has now become a common trend among hackers to spy into people’s computers versus infecting it with a regular virus. Why?
There are many reasons, in my opinion, the main one is to steal your credit card information, your social security number and any other bank/financial information for profit and identity theft.
Another big reason is to use your computer’s network for illegal purposes. Then, any criminal activity will result coming from your IP address and your location. Hackers can use your network to attack other computers, companies and to commit all kinds of cyber crimes.
What people are failing to realize is that these attackers or intruders are silently spying you and consistently stealing your information. At times, you will not notice anything irregular or abnormal with your computer, and this could go on for years before you discover something is wrong.
Usually, what gives away that you have someone watching and controlling your computer from a remote location, are abnormal outgoing network activities, open ports that should otherwise be closed, and sudden slowness of your Internet connection.
By analyzing your network, I can discover the anomaly and proceed with any removal techniques.
After I remove a hacker or multiple hackers from your computer, I leave you with recommendations that can help you prevent the return of the intruder. Keep in mind that they will have all your passwords including your email password and 90% of times, they attack you by email once again to re-invade your computer.
It is wise to change all your passwords immediately after the removal of Trojans or Hackers to prevent their return.
